Thousands of pounds are being made available to help fund events across Cumbria. The applications process is open now; and for the first time has been opened-up to all.
A fundamental principle of the Lakes Hospitality Show is to direct money back into our tourism industry. Our trade-only show is unique, in that as profits raised every year will be redirected back into projects and events that will directly benefit local economies. Indeed, long after the conclusion of the show the money raised will continue to help grow and evolve the £3bn tourism industry on which Cumbria is so reliant.
By generating funds to promote projects and events, we can help attract visitors into the area and support our local hospitality businesses. This is a benefit for both our economy and our local communities, as we work together to help the region grow and prosper in increasingly competitive and uncertain times.
Previous funding beneficiaries include Bowness Bay Blues Festival, Kendal Torchlight Carnival, Windermere and Hawkshead Christmas Markets and the Barrow Super Soapbox Challenge.
We would be delighted to receive the applications for your proposed events – old or new; and working in partnership with Cumbria Tourism, the Lakes Hospitality Association will review each application thoroughly. The more information applicants can provide, the better.
Successful applicants will be provided with funds to assist their event’s public relations, sales & marketing strategies thanks to the expertise of our partners at Cumbria Tourism.
Events must take place between September 2020 and September 2021, outside of the main tourist seasons, such as the school summer holidays. Application deadline is the 31st January 2020.
